Embedded Systems Forum

Current and future technologies in embedded systems

The world has witnessed explosive interest and growth in generative AI and continuously connected intelligent devices. This has led to significant advances in all aspects of embedded systems. This starts with sensors and embedded vision incorporating some level of onboard processing, and advanced machine learning (ML) on tiny devices.

And the complexity and cost of software development means open source and software portability becomes important. In addition to running large language models on embedded systems, we’re also seeing the potential for using generative AI for code generation – we already have AI assisted EDA tools, and this could expend to ultimately helping with chip design itself. Building hardware and systems that can be software-defined for future upgradability is another interesting development that has seen rapid advances.

The Embedded Systems Forum at electronica 2024 will explore these trends in embedded systems design, from device development to software and tools. It will look at sensors to systems to software, exploring the latest advances that include connected devices, security, software development, low power design and energy harvesting, and more.

Focus topics 2024:

  • Latest trends with connected devices
  • Safety & Security for Embedded Systems
  • Low Power Design
